Privacy policy
Effective 9 August 2026
Bolo is an app for learning conversational Odia, built by Shikhiba Inc. The app is currently in development and not yet available on the App Store. This policy describes this website and how the app will handle data when it is released.
This website
kathakaha.com is a static site. It uses no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives the standard technical information involved in serving a file (such as your IP address).
What the app collects
- Account. Sign-in is by a one-time code sent to your email address. We store the email address; there are no passwords.
- Learning progress. Your answers, review schedule, and streak are stored so the app can work across sessions and devices.
- Tutor conversations. Messages you exchange with the AI tutor are processed to generate replies and logged for quality and safety review.
- Practice recordings. In listen-and-repeat exercises, your recording is processed to show you a transcript of what you said. Recordings are not retained after transcription.
Service providers
The app runs on cloud services that process data on our behalf: Supabase (authentication, database, and storage), Anthropic (AI tutor replies), and Sarvam AI (speech synthesis and speech recognition). Each receives only what it needs to provide its function.
What we don't do
No ads, no selling or sharing of personal data for marketing, no third-party analytics or tracking.
Your choices
To ask a question, or to request access to or deletion of your data, email ricky@kathakaha.com.
Children
Bolo is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If our practices change, this page will be updated and the effective date revised.
